Internships: Graduate Internship

Christian Encounter Ministries offers an internship for those with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. This internship emphasizes the formal counseling setting and requires a twelve month commitment.
As a graduate level intern, you will serve as the primary counselor for as many as four resident students. Individual counseling, group counseling (with families of students), workshops, crisis counseling, individual and group supervision, and time spent testing and evaluating will consume the bulk of your hours.

The responsibilities of the intern are as follows:

1. Be a role-model of the Christian lifestyle
2. Live with and supervise resident students
3. Disciple one or more resident students
4. Function as a work crew leader
5. Function as a vital member of the Intern team
6. Share responsibility for Study Hall supervision
7. Participate in weekly training meetings
8. Lead occasional Devotions for resident students
9. Be discipled by a CEM staff member
10. Cooperate with leadership and follow all CEM rules.

Accumulation of hours:
On the basis of past experience, we know that it is possible for an M.F.T. intern to accumulate approximately 1500 hours of supervised counseling experience in one year of ministry.
