Internships: Graduate Internship
Christian Encounter Ministries offers an
internship for those with a Master’s degree
in Marriage and Family Therapy. This
internship emphasizes the formal counseling
setting and requires a twelve month
commitment.
As a graduate level intern, you will serve
as the primary counselor for as many as four
resident students. Individual counseling,
group counseling (with families of
students), workshops, crisis counseling,
individual and group supervision, and time
spent testing and evaluating will consume
the bulk of your hours.
 The responsibilities of the intern are as
follows:
1. Be a role-model of the Christian
lifestyle
2. Live with and supervise resident students
3. Disciple one or more resident students
4. Function as a work crew leader
5. Function as a vital member of the Intern
team
6. Share responsibility for Study Hall
supervision
7. Participate in weekly training meetings
8. Lead occasional Devotions for resident
students
9. Be discipled by a CEM staff member
10. Cooperate with leadership and follow all
CEM rules.
Accumulation of hours:
On the basis of past experience, we know
that it is possible for an M.F.T. intern to
accumulate approximately 1500 hours of
supervised counseling experience in one year
of ministry.
