Male interns needed
Without male interns, the ministry cannot run! Please spread the word. (Joseph, a CEM student for about 16 months, finished his studentship in June of 2016.) As a missionary kid who grew up in China, Joseph always had dreams of returning some day. Likewise, when Joseph finished his time as a student at CEM last June, thoughts of returning for an internship were already brewing. Little did he know that he would have the opportunity to return to both of these places so soon. After completing a stint with the Mission Builders program of Youth With A Mission in Chico last December, Joseph was certain he wanted to attend YWAM’s Discipleship Training School beginning in March. It was a clear ticket back to China. During his YWAM stint, Joseph was invited to return to CEM for two months to help with grounds maintenance. The offer to come back was like an offer to return home. Going out with interns and having time around the table family style. Being able to sit around the table and laugh and pass food around - there’s something really special about that. by: mike petrilloCEM's EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 1994 - 2015 One of the Board members for Christian Encounter Ministries brought a full set of armor to church recently. All the elements that are mentioned in Ephesians 6 were evident. It made a good impression standing at the front of the fellowship room, and the talk about preparing for spiritual battle was extra effective because of the display. Of course, the armor never moved, the sword didn’t cut, the shield didn’t rise. There were no shouts of victory, nor enemies scattered—at least that I could see. This armor was a learning tool, but it did not spring into action. I thought the parallels were striking. The scripture describes these tools, weapons, defenses and their purposes quite clearly, but if we never put them into action, the armor is even less useful than the little steel man in front of the church. At least he provided a good image for training. “H” is for Honor Roll.
“A job well done” to Zack, Annemarie, and Anthony for making 2nd quarter Honor Roll. A big congratulations also to Annemarie for completing high school! |
