“When I came [to CEM], I knew one thing: I wanted to go home. I did pretend I wanted to be here...Then I realized I needed to be here. I had anger back home - I didn’t have good outlets. [CEM] is helping me deal with things in the past that I buried down and have never dealt with. My dad left when I was five. I was pretty sad, and over time I buried that sadness…I feel like I’ve gotten closer to Jesus here. I never read my Bible back home. I feel like I’m becoming more real here. I’m learning to love and to not bury emotions…”
